Mizzou IT: Printing
Print Smart
Print Smart is a print-accounting service that manages printing usage in the computing sites. Students are automatically enrolled in the service at no charge.
Print Quota and Fees
Students that are financially enrolled at MU receive a $35 (per academic year) nonrefundable print quota allotted for printing in MU computing sites. Students enrolled for the summer period receive an additional $7 nonrefundable print quota. Use the MyPawPrint tool or the new My Services usage tool to check your Print Smart usage.
A portion of the cost of student printing is funded through the Information Technology Fee (ITF). Students with departmental teaching or research appointments do not receive a quota — a MoCode must be used and the charges below apply.
Quotas do not roll over into the next MU academic period. All quotas were reset Aug. 8, 2007. Charges are applied to your student account for printed pages that exceed the quota.
See the tips for conserving paper and quota KnowledgeBase article for ways to keep under your quota.

Refund Requests
For Print Smart account problems, contact the on-site consultant or the consultant in the nearest staffed site within 72 hours to request a refund. Be sure to keep all damaged prints to show the consultant. Consultants can submit refund requests for review.
Requesting a refund does not guarantee a credit will be issued. You will be notified about refund decisions via e-mail.
Entering Your PawPrint (SSO ID) and Password to Print
In order to ensure accurate and secure print accounts, it's necessary for you to authenticate (i.e., tell the system you are who you say you are), because you'll be accepting a charge against your quota. Forgetting to log off when leaving a computer could result in unauthorized charges to your account. Macintosh users will need to enter their passwords twice as an added security precaution. After you've entered your PawPrint (SSO ID) and password, and confirmed your print job, Print Smart displays a notification dialog box indicating which printer will release the job.
