Student Long-Distance Service

Fees

Long-distance service enables you to make long-distance phone calls for five cents per minute from long-distance capable phones throughout the campus. There are no sign-up or monthly fees, because you are charged only for actual usage. The Division of IT charges your MU student account and sends monthly call detail statements to your local address. If you do not have a local address on file with the Registrar's office, we'll send the statements to your permanent address.

Availability

Long Distance With Local Phone Service

Use the Local phone service request form to request, change, or cancel local phone, voice mail, or long-distance service(s).

Long Distance Without Local Phone Service

If you want long distance without local phone service, use the Long-distance service request form to request or cancel long-distance service.

Calling Restrictions

Authorization Code

You may use your confidential six-digit authorization code on most campus phones. You are responsible for keeping the code confidential to avoid fraudulent use. If you suspect fraud, contact the Division of IT at (573)882-2000.

How to Direct-Dial

The Division of IT blocks direct-dial long-distance calling (1 + dialing) and calls placed to 900 numbers. The Division places these restrictions to protect you and the University from fraud.

Access Other Long-Distance Carriers

You can access other long-distance carriers from campus phones by dialing the carrier's toll-free 950-xxxx or 10-10-xxx access number.
