Mizzou IT: E-Mail
WebmailWebmail offers easy access from anywhere with Internet access and a Web browser and offers a variety of useful features. Log in to Webmail here. Or, use the "E-Mail Login" link at the upper left corner of any page on this site (immediately below the Mizzou IT logo). The first time you log in to Webmail on a new computer, you'll need to download and install a security certificate from the Webmail site. (See the "support" box at right for links.) You'll also need to enable "cookies" in your Web browser program. Login with your PawPrint (SSO ID) and password at webmail.mizzou.edu.E-Mail QuotaAll MU student e-mail accounts have a quota of 40 MB. This quota applies regardless of your e-mail client (Webmail, Mac Mail, etc.). Exceeding your quota will result in the following warnings or actions:
Managing Your E-Mail Quota
Other Useful Webmail InfoWebmail Access While TravelingWebmail allows secure e-mail access from remote locations, whether you're leaving campus for a week or a semester. Depending on whose computer you're using, you may need to install a security certificate. If you are using your own computer (your laptop, for example), you probably won't need to install the security certificate at all — you can simply log in to Webmail at webmail.missouri.edu. If you don't yet have a security certificate, download and install it from the Webmail login page, as described above. If you are using a private computer (such as a rental/borrowed computer or institutional workstation), you'll need to install the security certificate in order for Webmail to function. Some rental and institutional machines might require that you reinstall the certificate each time you access Webmail. Many public or one-time use computer (e.g., at a public library or Internet café) systems will allow you to install a certificate for a single session, but won't retain the certificate for later use. Download and reinstall the certificate as necessary for each Webmail session. Note: If you are using a computer that's not your own, you should choose the Public or shared computer option when you log in to Webmail. This option will cause your Webmail session to "time out" after 15 minutes, which will help protect your privacy after you're done with that computer. If you choose the Private computer option, Webmail will time out after 24 hours. This option is less secure — if you forget to use the Log Off button while using the Private computer option, your e-mail will be available to anyone else that uses the computer in the next 24 hours.Forgot Your Password? It happens sometimes! You can use myZou to reset your password. Click the Forgot Your Password? link in myZou, then the Current Users button, and follow the instructions. (Be sure to remember it next time!)Undeliverable MessagesIf you receive returned undeliverable messages that you did not send it is most likely a result of a computer mass-mailing a virus or worm. It does not necessarily mean that others have access to your account or that your computer is infected by the virus. However, you should continually update your anti-virus and operating system software to protect your computer from infections. Do not open suspicious e-mail attachments!
